Walking with Spring, March & April programs - the Macon County Public Library is an A.T. Community Supporter. Since Franklin's designation as an A.T. Community, MCPL has helped build public awareness about the significant resources and economic opportunities the Appalachian National Scenic Trail brings to Franklin as an A.T. Community.

The library's "Walking with Spring" series of movies and programs in partnership with the Nantahala Hiking Club and the Franklin A.T. Community Council corresponds with thru-hiker season in Franklin and highlights the A.T., its hikers, and other outdoor activities and environmental issues. All programs are free and open to the general public. Programs are in the library Meeting Room unless otherwise noted.
